ESSENTIAL TECHNIQUES OF CAR DEALERSHIP INVENTORY PHOTOGRAPHY

Ensure That Your Vehicle is Clean

To arrange an effective car dealership photography process, you need to clean your vehicle in such a manner that it starts to shine. Remove dirt and clean your car’s windows thoroughly. Properly clean the headlights and if you find the light cover to be unclear, take a cleaning kit and remove the ingrained dirt. You need to ensure your car looks fantastic and spotless. For that, you may need to remove every kind of dirt and stain from it. Even though it may be very challenging, you may need to put in some effort if you want to have good car dealership photos. Otherwise, your car may look a bit neglected and older.

Your Photo Camera Must Have Proper Resolution:

If you are selling a car online, you need to make your camera capable of providing enough resolution to have pictures look brilliant for car dealership photos. Most of the dealers do not pay heed to, and ultimately they don’t get the outcomes they desire for.

Find a Proper Location:

A clean, unfussy, and attractive location is all you need to have a proper shoot. Not having a good background can make your car look dirty and unpleasant. If you are taking your high-end sedan’s car dealership photos for the purpose of selling, you need to ensure that the images are not captured in front of run-down buildings or in an unclean parking lot. Park is deemed as an optimal location if you want to shoot your car in a better manner. However, the following are a few things that you need to take into account when choosing the location to take photos of your vehicle:

  • Avoid locations that are crowded or where people are roaming around. It is because people can be reflected in the paint job or may walk into the shot. A plain background such as a building, greenery, or a tall wooden fence will be perfect if you want to take decent photos of your car. You should find pavement, but make sure it is not covered in oil stains.
  • If you are facing issues finding an empty parking lot or a beautiful park, the best thing you can do in that situation would be to isolate your car somewhere on your lot, which is clean and attractive. We understand that removing every obstacle is not possible, but you should at least make an effort to make your photos as attractive as possible.

Timing Of Taking Pictures Must Be Perfect:

Want to avoid glare and shadows? Try capturing photos on an overcast day. On sunny days, the ideal timing would be before 11 am in the mornings and after 4 pm in the evenings. If you are willing to shoot on cloudless days and at noon, find a way to overcome the direct light. The best thing you can do is constantly change your car’s position and keep the sun behind you whenever possible.

Never Crop The Edges Of The Vehicle:

You need to ensure that your car is centered in the frame every time as it is the subject of your photo. You can center your vehicle horizontally. Just remember to avoid randomly cropping off the front and the roof of your car.

Horizon Must Be Level:

If your car is not going downhill or uphill, it should not look as if they are not level. This does not look pleasant. You need to ensure that the horizon is level.

Photographs Must be Properly Lit:

For best car dealership photos, you need to ensure the image is properly lit. It is essential to have proper lighting if you want to show the details of your car to prospective customers. Nothing should come between you and your vehicle.

Uniform Size & Orientation:

If you want to show the pictures effectively and adequately, they must have consistent size and orientation. In case it is not, your thumbnail will look random, sloppy, and unorganized.

If you have a big car dealership, consider hiring a dealership photo company. That way, you can save time on taking photos and uploading inventory to your website. Visit www.autoimageservices.com to see some best examples of professional car photography.
