How did you come by your stage name?
For some reason, I never want to separate myself from the artist that I am. At some point, I know that the artist and the person are two different entities, but I wanted to remain Fatima in all aspects of my life. My name is Fatima, my artist, brand, and band name is also Fatima.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
At age 6, on Sundays I used to go to church with my family, and my older sister Christelle one Sunday told me that she wanted us to do a duet during Sunday service, I got super excited, but she sent my name and not hers so I ended up singing solo, literally shaking.
I was very shy and turned red like a tomato, that was my first stage and audience experience, and it did not stop. Made me mad at her when that happened, but I owe her a lot for that she gave me the right push at that time, since then, I`ve not put down the microphone.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
From what I wear to the music I make, it’s all rooted in my Haitian roots. My music and fashion are quite versatile, I make Kompa, Zouk, R&B, Pop, Rock, global-music. I listen to and enjoy many other genres from diverse cultures.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
My current project is an EP that I am working on with DJ Fredy Muks, our first song together was titled “I am Water” which inspired us to write more songs on the elements. (Water, fire, air, earth)
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
My biggest challenge is being a woman in the music industry, gives me a feeling I have to prove myself sometimes, or less is expected of me, it turns out to be an encouragement to push even harder, and my greatest attribute will be my voice and the gift of melody. Other than that, I am working hard to perfect my craft, and be more disciplined in my purpose.

What are your plans for the near future?
Keep on making good music, spread love and positivity, maybe write a book, and have my own recording studio and who knows maybe a structure to build up other acts.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
I would like to thank God for good health in the middle of this pandemic, I am very grateful for that. I would like to thank Dj Fredy Muks for his talent and trust in my talent. Last but not least I am thankful for my supporters, from Haiti and all over the world.
