For over a year people across Miami have been demanding that VIDE, a popular cocktail brand out of New York, finally bring its cans to our area, and we can now say that the drinks are here!
While people love the taste, especially while relaxing out in the sun, the company has also made a name for itself due to its all-natural, gluten-free, zero sugar, and zero carbs ingredients lineup. Oh, and VIDE was also recently invested into by actress/model Olivia Culpo!
We spoke one-on-one with one of the co-founders of the beverage, Ryan Laverty, to find out all about its move to Miami and the rest of Florida + some exciting new flavors they are getting set to release.
1. Originally from New York, VIDE has now taken over Florida! Why was FL and the Miami area such a high priority for your expansion?
Florida was a great next step for VIDE. A lot of our consumers from the northeast are quite migratory to the south Florida region. Many of them would repeatedly ask us when VIDE was going to be available in FL. In addition, Miami is such a wonderful melting pot of so many different cultures. We’re so proud that we are an aspirational beverage for so many different people. We never set out to appeal to just one group. And of course, the weather- Miami is an all-year market and we intend to invest in it that way!
2. What flavors are currently the most popular here in town?
Watermelon has always been a staple, but the peach vodka soda has been getting some awesome feedback. The people asked, and we delivered!
3. We see that the VIDE founders and team are in Miami a lot. What about the area do you personally love and where are some of your favorite spots to go out to?
The weather, above all. You really can’t beat it. I’m not so sure I’ve been in Miami for long enough to consider myself a ‘regular’ anywhere. What makes Miami so great is there are so many cool places to check out. We love el patio, 1800 lucky, Riverside, and the Broken Shaker!
4. Has Miami inspired any of the flavors or VIDE branding at all?
The new Mango & Peach flavors definitely had some tropical inspiration. Utilizing the fruits here in Florida is so prevalent across so many products. We were really inspired by that.
5. What do you feel makes your cocktails stand out from others on the market?
VIDE to us (maybe we’re biased ) is the most drinkable product on the market. We couldn’t stand the sugary and syrupy flavor profiles on competing products. VIDE is so light and refreshing, with such a small hint of flavor. It’s never overbearing and consistent every time. So when we are hanging out at the pool at a place like the Loews Hotel, VIDE is the perfect beverage to enjoy.
6. What’s next for VIDE in 2021?
These are some exciting times at VIDE. We’ve worked so hard to get this company up and running. Over the next 2 months, we’ll be expanding to 5 new markets. We’ve hired some really inspiring people to help us see this vision through- to provide convenience, transparency, and quality to the modern drinker.
