The goal of any music artist is to produce songs that connect with those that listen. It drives relevance, re-playability, and long-term loyalty. Recently, Mississippi artist $tackz discussed what he hopes the takeaways will be from his music. Insightfully he reveals, “I just want people to say my music was real and made them feel something.” A simple yet powerful goal for an artist who understands the impact music can have on a person.
$tackz own journey highlights the role music played in his life, beginning at the age of 10 with the support of his brother and continuing through the present where his brother and now five kids continue to inspire his writing. He spoke about an upcoming project and the life experiences that played into its creation saying “My new project will release on October 5th! It is about coming home from doing a year in prison and maintaining my family at the same time! It is about coming from nothing.” The project will be called “The Come Up 2.”
Writing about reality has paid off for $tackz as he has been able to work with producers like DJ XO (Top 10 Billboard Producer) and fellow artists like Kirko Bangz and Enzo Mcfly. Additionally, he has been able to play shows at places like The House of Blues in New Orleans. He hopes that one day it will lead to work with big-name collaborations with the likes of Lil Wayne and Chris Brown. Stay tuned for much more to come from this new talent.
