We are excited for those who give back to their city! This fellow Miamian recording artist takes his career to the next level, simply by giving back to the community with his talents. It’s always a good story to tell when someone with artistic gifts is able to take an audience on a journey with them.
It’s a gratifying experience and James took it back to his roots by gracing the stage at this poetry event. The “V’s Couture Poetry Slam” took place on March 15th at the Hallandale Beach Community Center. There were dozens of vendors, entrepreneurs as well as other poets and musicians present. Different cultures and fans made the event a fun and successful place to be on that Saturday.
James started out doing spoken word at the age of 15, before making music back in high school. As time went on and he got older, it became more music throughout his career. However, when Ms. Vickie Smith, CEO of “V’s Couture” Clothing Line and Events reached out to him he couldn’t turn down the opportunity. He wanted to be in a spoken-word atmosphere once again.
The entire card was hosted by Actress and Comedian “Candyce Haynes” and there was also a champion crowned for the spoken word competition. Roan performed his single “Time Shows” produced by fellow Miami producer Richy B’. The duo also has an album set to be released soon titled “Elements of Life”. The performance was well received by the audience and he’s gained a bit of followers, subscribers, and respect following the event. He wants to change the Hip-Hop genre one stage at a time.
